This album was an experiment in channeling and possession.
My intentions for doing this work weren’t to inflict “a shotgun blast of evil on the listener”, as has been suggested by some reviewers, it’s for those who seek to understand “evil” in a visceral way, as I’ve interpreted it, without earning the consequences that often come as the prize for pursuing such curiosities. Obviously no bargains for fame and fortune were on the table during the operation, and that never interested me. Nor did the protocols and social mechanisms of “the scene”. I’m not an entertainer and entertainment was never my aim.
FAMINE is my sole contribution the Black Metal Movement and it speaks for itself.
